Born and raised in Tanzania but now calling Mparntwe (Alice Springs) home, Katanga Junior is an exciting, charismatic artist who has captivated audiences across the Territory since arriving three years ago. Seamlessly integrating himself into the Mparntwe music scene, Junior has developed a dedicated fan base thanks to his distinctively deep voice, smooth flow and multilingual lyrics. Incorporating hip-hop, reggae, ragga and indie-folk sounds, Katanga cannot be pigeonholed as a creative and audiences love him all the more for it. 2022 was a HUGE year for Katanga with his debut single Mapenzi Business taking out number 10 in the 2022 Territory Sounds Countdown and the release of his third EP Jangwa. 2023 looks set to be even bigger with a new collaborative album on the horizon and a recent spot on the main stage of Wide Open Space Festival.
